To the Men Who Are Killing It at This #DaddingIt Thing, We Love You!

In the world of families, there’s usually a pretty clear difference in the way parents approach various responsibilities. Husbands and wives just have different ways of doing things, yes? Despite the differences, it’s important to embrace the positives and take a look at the things that truly matter. Here are a few of our favorite examples of dads and husbands who are absolutely killing it at this family bit thing!

1

Good Grooming. One of the most important habits we can teach our children is to adapt good grooming habits. Bathing, brushing teeth, and hey, it’s never too early to learn time-honored shaving techniques from the master himself, right?

2

Keeping Baby Safe. Look, we’re not going to lie, those freaking papoose things are confusing as hell. Is the baby secured? Yes. Does it look pretty? Not so much – moms clearly make this look good, but dads – you get credit for function and effort!

3

No Swing Set? No Problem. Not everyone can afford a fancy schmancy backyard swing set. Maybe he lives too far from the park or it’s a rainy day? You don’t know. We give him an A for extra work to make that kiddo happy (but seriously, can this end well at all?).

Because Sometimes You Need a Dance Party. Who says dads can’t get their groove on? To the dads who aren’t afraid to bust a move with their littles – be it in the living room, a dance hall, or ballet recital – you freaking rock. This is parenting done right!

Ingenious Hacks. Then there are the ingenious dads. You know the ones I mean. They are the men who amaze us with their ingenuity in ways that make us say “WTF” and give a big “Wow” out of impressive amazement at the same time. I know one of these.
8
Finding the Humor. My favorite dads are the ones who are able to find the humor in everything. Be not enraged by the constant flickering of lights, embrace it with humor and blast your fun times to the world! It’s the kind of lunatic humor only parents can appreciate.
9
Explaining Life. Not all life moments are “aww” moments filled with smiles and hugs and rainbows and such. Sometimes there are “balls” involved, and when that happens, someone is usually trying with all their might not to laugh in front of the little. High fives for surviving this convo, dad.
10
Their Sarcasm Game Is Strong. If they aren’t dishing out a constant stream of sarcasm and BS, are they even a father? I mean, seriously? Who better to teach your kids the delicate annoyance of a strong sarcasm game? It’s an essential life lesson, so dads who have mastered it are freaking awesome.
11
A Little Bit of Danger. What’s a childhood without a little bit of danger thrown in for good measure? Would mom do this? No. No she would not. Will the kids be scarred for life by the experience? Well… maybe. But we’re betting they’re more likely to look back on the memory as on that says, “my dad was freaking bada**.”
12
The Art of Inappropriate Humor. While most parents vehemently deny children the opportunity to play with sharp objects, this dad decided to teach his little just why we say so. No, he didn’t really chop his finger, but his creativity and risk-taking parenting efforts will surely push this kiddo to new limits as she grows!
13
The Most Amazing Things. And then sometimes, there are the dads who really do make you go “aww.” This dad knows the meaning of being there and being supportive of your kids no matter what. I may need a tissue after this one. Kudos, dad. You’re freaking awesome.

Girls in Science. Anytime a dad helps promote STEM subjects with the littles, we love it. Showing his daughter how to rock the chemistry set is fantastic. Even if it is a little “Breaking Bad” illegal kind of thing. It’s the lessons that matter, right? Way to go dads! You’re killing it!
